5 Tips to Build More Muscle This Year

Building muscle is a great way to improve your health. It will help to maintain good joint and muscle health, enable you to burn more calories when resting, and help you to lose fat should you need to do so, amongst other things.
Of course, building more muscle can be more difficult than it seems which is why I’ve put together some top tips to help you build more muscle this year whether you’re new to weight training or a seasoned strength trainer…
1. Eat protein every meal
A really simple way to help yourself maximise muscle build is to eat more protein with every meal. Protein is the building block of muscle mass and the average person will need to consume approximately 1g of protein for every 454g they weigh.
Obviously, just eating protein won’t build the muscle, all of these tips require you to actually go out there and take up strength training too, but if you combine protein intake with regular lifting, it will be far easier to bulk up.
2. Consider supplements
There are many supplements that can help you to build muscle mass much faster. SARMs are legal in the UK and they are a bit like steroids, but much less dangerous for your body. They can help you to increase your gains pretty effectively, but you should always consult a medical professional before you try out any supplements at all, pipeclay if you are already taking medication.
3. Stay hydrated
When you lift weights, you tend to sweat a lot, which means your body loses a lot of water. That makes it more difficult for the muscles to recover and grow. That’s why, if you want to build more muscle more effectively this year, you should ensure that you are always fully hydrated Buy a water bottle and sip for it regularly., ON exercise days, drink around 500ml more than you usually do.
4. Train heavy
You should never train with more weight than you can manage, but it is true to say that if you want to develop more muscle mass more quickly, the heavier you are able to lift, the easier it will be to do so. Lifting light can absolutely build muscle, but you need to do way more reps to achieve the same goals, and most of us just don’t have time for that, so focus on improving your lifting weight this year.
5. Have plenty of rest days
It might seem counterproductive, but if you want to build muscle mass effectively, you need to take plenty of rest days. Why? Because if you don’t your muscles will not be able to repair and grow, so try to have one day on and one day off at the gym if you can possibly do so.
As you can see, building more muscle this year is totally doable if you are dedicated to doing so and you know a few shortcuts to help you along the way. So, what are you waiting for?
