Dreaming of a No Trousers Tube Ride

The No Trousers Tube Ride is an annual event that normally happens in London each year in January.
We haven’t been able to find any official statement on the matter – to be honest, we’re not even sure who normally takes the lead on organising the event.
But, given we’re in the middle of a global pandemic, it clearly wasn’t possible for the event to happen in 2021.
What normally happens on the No Trousers Tube Ride?
Obviously, you can take your trousers off on the tube anytime you like – as long as you’re not causing offence to anyone else, there’s nothing stopping you making it No Trousers day every day.
But taking part in the official proceedings of No Trousers Rube Ride is a normally a fun opportunity to get together with other people for a bit of saucy silliness.
In previous years, hundreds of people have braved the cold and taken part by dropping their trousers and getting on the tube.
How it usually works is that everyone meets up at a designated point in town, you split up into groups, then head off for a ride on the tube.
There’s a fair bit of Monty Python about this – the idea is that you just ride the tube as you would normally, apparently having forgotten to put your trousers on.
Later that day, everyone meets back up for some drinks in a pub.
It’s a great excuse to get some mates together and get your trousers off!
Will we have to wait until 2022 for the next No Trousers Tube Ride?
It seems like a long time to wait. To be honest, as soon as this fever-dream of a pandemic is over, lockdown comes to an end and we’re allowed out of the flat, we could quite easily be tempted to strip off and run through the streets snogging everyone in our path.
Maybe we should just make every day a No Trousers Tube Ride?
