Drag Race Spain - S4E3: The Recap
Are you up to speed?
Drag Race Spain - easily one of the best variations of the global franchise - is back with Season 4.
The Mini Challenge
This week's mini-challenge tasked the queens with splitting a melon in half using only a stiletto.
The queen with the neatest and most evenly split melon was the winner - that was Angelita.
The Main Challenge
This week was an acting challenge.
As the winner of the mini-challenge, Angelita got to allocate the roles.
This created quite a bit of drama as Angelita ensured that her friends got the roles that they wanted. Mariana was particularly unhappy.
The Runway
The category this week was My Worst Nightmare - channelling the sleep demons that haunt your dreams.
This was fine although pretty everyone went for Dragula-style horror drag.
The judging
In the top were Kelly, Angelita, and Coco. Angelita was declared the winner.
In the bottom were Mariana, Dita, and La Nina.
La Nina was safe, giving us a Bottom 2 of Mariana versus Dita.
The lip-sync
They've been teasing this golden ticket twist but this was the first week that it felt like it might finally be called into action - but no.
The track was Loca by Malena Gracia - a fun track with plenty of attitude and performance beats.
Mariana smashed this, sending Dita home.
Episode 3, done!
Cast
Still in the running
- Angelita La Perversa: It's been a roller-coaster so far for Angelita - highs and lows. She's not coming off as particularly likeable.
- Chloe Vittu: Needs to step it up.
- Kelly Passa: A strong performance in the acting challenge will hopefully help her to find some momentum.
- La Niña Delantro: She has clearly made a positive impression with the judges but seems to be struggling in the challenges.
- Le Cocó: Consistently high placements - she's one to watch.
- Mariana Stars: Probably the front-runner and my early pick to win. The lip-sync in Episode 3 demonstrated why is going to be tough to beat.
- Megui Yeillow: From Pit Crew to drag queen - the journey will be interesting. So far, it's been an excellent start.
- Miss Khristo: Winning the first week is the way you want to start Season 4 but she's going to have to continue to deliver.
- Vampirashian: A strong start but we're going to need to see more.
Eliminated
- Dita Dubois: Giving us a different perspective on drag from the Canary Islands, Dita never really got motoring in this competition.
- Porca Theclubkid: A shame to lose Porca so early, she seems like she's an entertaining performer and an engaging character.
- Shani LaSanta: Disappointed that Shani has left the competition - she seems a really engaging queen with plenty to offer, but her looks let her down in this first episode, making her the Pork Chop of the season.
