Emily Sheila is no arachnophobe
Singer/songwriter Emily Sheila has released her latest single, Tarantula.
Born with an English and Peruvian heritage, and raised in Miami, Emily Sheila brings passion and intensity with her music.
Sheila’s silky yet sultry voice, combined with her catchy lyrics and melodies make her an engaging artist to watch.
Having released her album No Man’s Land earlier this year, Sheila embraces an ethereal vibe to explore her vulnerabilities with Tarantula.
Her music comes from her life experiences. The fearsome spider from the title of the song represents being vulnerable.
“We’re so scared when we’re faced with it, but we don’t realise we have more power and can control the situation…” explains Sheila. “We always want what isn’t good for us and it leads us into vulnerability. We want to go for it, but it’s not good – we shouldn’t let it in.”
“When I’m creating music, there is a moment of getting lost…” says Sheila, talking about how she finds making music to be therapeutic. “It’s where you forget about your anxiety, depression, and nothing else matters. I want to heal people through music by the masses.”
