GlitterBeam Radio is here to help you #TakeItOnline
Amidst all the social distancing, lock-downs, and the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s worth remembering that the LGBTQ community needs to work hard to support our well-being and mental health.
We often rely on our support networks and social occasions to stay connected with each other, but if social distancing requires that we change the way that we do things, we need to find some online solutions for maintaining our social connection to the wider world.
GlitterBeam, an LGBTQ radio station in the UK, has launched a full schedule of shows to help try and entertain the LGBTQ community while we’re all stuck at home.
Listeners can actively participate, with shoutouts and on-air messages. Just send a message to the Glitterbeam team, share the details of what you want to celebrate, and you can dedicate a song to your mates, your hook-ups, or your family.
The updated schedule includes a morning program full of news and music, then there’s music all day to keep you company while you’re working from home, and then in the evening there’s a variety of shows to help brighten up your day.
Evening shows include The Gossip Gays on Mondays, Queer Culture on Thursdays, The Twink Talks on Saturdays, and Ginger and Nuts on Sundays.
Plus there’s big weekend dance shows to help provide the soundtrack to your mini house-parties.
