Nyle DiMarco has TV productions in the pipeline
Nyle DiMarco has confirmed that he’ll be an executive producer on a new show called Look At Me.
The project is being developed for NBC – it’s about a multi-generational deaf family, living under one roof. The story is inspired by DiMarco’s experiences.
This isn’t the first time that Nyle has moved behind the camera. He was also an executive producer on Deaf U for Netflix. Also in the pipeline is the screen adaptation of Deaf President Now!
Deaf President Now! chronicles a period of protest at Gallaudet University in 1988. The school’s board of trustees selected a hearing president over equally qualified deaf candidates. The selected president later resigned and the university installed its first deaf president.
“Learning about the Deaf President Now movement as a young Deaf boy, I was in awe of how Deaf people like me were able to make such a powerful impact on the world…” DiMarco has said in media interviews. “It was, and still is, such a monumental event in the history of Deaf people and the disability community, helping pave the way towards the Americans with Disabilities Act and more.”
