Meet the boys in a Brazilian bathhouse

Written and directed by Dannon Lacerda, Copa 181  follows Taná, who lives with his wife Eros, in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.
Taná works at a small building supplies store, while Eros is dedicated to a career as an opera singer. But Taná seems to also have another life – he’s a regular at a local bathhouse where he mixes with the rent-boys and the staff, and is welcomed as part of the family.
It’s a beautifully observed film, shying away from dramatic tension to present what happens when lives intersect and people follow their hearts.
Copa 181 is distributed by Breaking Glass Pictures
