Even Olympic superstars like Adam Rippon meet boyfriends on dating apps
US figure skater Adam Rippon is officially off the market – and reportedly met his new boyfriend on a dating app.
The sporting star, who came to worldwide attention at the 2018 Winter Olympics, met Jussi-Pekka Kajaala on Tinder, according to a friend.
He has posted a photo of his Finnish partner on Instagram. Without their shirts on, of course.
Both Adam and Jussi are fond of a topless selfie or two.
American magazine People claims the pair chatted online for seven months before meeting in real life.
Adam had spoken about using apps in a previous interview with the publication.
“I’ve tried Tinder and Grindr. I’m only human,” said Adam.
“I feel like a lot of people are afraid to be single, but I’ve fully embraced it.
“I have really invested a lot of time in thinking about what I want to do. If I can meet a guy who falls into that and is supportive of that, that’s great.”
And now it seems like it seems like he has done just that.
Adam has become an LGBTQ+ icon in 2018, first with his performance on the ice in PyeongChang.
But he also found fans across the world with his political statements.
He turned down the opportunity to speak to US Vice President Mike Pence during his time competing in South Korea earlier this year.
Mike Pence is known for his anti-LGBTQ+ stance and is Donald Trump’s right hand man.
Adam also made headlines when he wore a leather harness to the 2018 Oscars.
