What’s happening with Benidorm Pride in 2020?
With its stunning beaches, great weather, and vibrant nightlife, Benidorm has long been one of the most popular vacation destinations in Spain. We’re hopeful that in life after lock-down, Benidorm will at some stage be able to welcome everyone back to enjoy a bit of Spanish sunshine.
For the LGBTQ traveller, there’s no better time to visit Benidorm than during the annual Pride celebrations. Obviously, there’s some question marks as to what that’s going to look like in 2020.
Benidorm Pride is generally held at the end of the European summer. The 2020 dates were announced as 31 August – 6 September, with the main Pride March scheduled for 5 September.
Organisers haven’t made any official announcement as to the status of Benidorm Pride. They’re probably waiting to see what happens in the next few weeks. Spain is slowly beginning to explore what it might look like to gradually relax lock-down restrictions.
The impact of Covid-19 hasn’t been as severe in Benidorm as it has been in cities such as Madrid and Barcelona, but it’s hard to predict whether large outdoor events will be possible by early September.
We’ll stick a pin in this one for now, and come back with an update in the coming weeks.
