What to watch: Potato Dreams of America
Written and directed by Wes Hurley, Potato Dreams of America is a dark but heartwarming comedy that tells the based-on-real-events story of a mother and son who leave Russia for a new life in the United States.
This is an engaging and watchable film, bringing plenty of humour and wry observations to a story that feels familiar but also has some unexpected twists.
One of the strengths of the film is the cast. The cast includes Tyler Bocock, Jonathan Bennett, Lea DeLaria, Sera Barbieri, Dan Lauria, Hersh Powers, and Marya Sea Kaminski.
