What to watch: Waking Up Dead
Waking Up Dead is a bittersweet comedy written and directed by Terracino.
The film gives us the story of Danny Maldonado (Gabriel Sousa) – a once-promising Hollywood actor whose life and career have hit rock bottom.
A chance to audition for a role in a hot new pilot seems to be Danny’s last shot at redemption.
“Waking Up Dead is the story of what you need versus what you want…” explains Terracino. “Danny is hot, gorgeous, and a partier, and he keeps doing that. He keeps thinking that if he does more of the same, it is going to work out. Even when he vows to turn things around, he does things exactly as he always does. So, I think that is a life lesson. We must learn the difference between what we need and what we want. As you mature, you realise there is a difference.”
The cast includes Judy Geeson and Traci Lords.
