Currently on our screens in the Luca Guadagnino film, Queer, Omar Apollo is a singer and actor who has our attention.
In interviews, Omar talks openly and honestly about navigating life and celebrity as a gay man, and he seems to be bringing that authenticity to everything he tackles - including giving us a full-frontal scene in Queer.
The film gives us the story of William Lee (played by Daniel Craig) - a fictionalised version of William S. Burroughs, the author of the book the film is based on. He’s an American expat in Mexico, spending his days drunk and stumbling from bar to bar in search of men to sleep with. Omar's role in the film is as a man who is picked up by Lee in a bar.
Lee takes Omar's character back to a hotel room for a sexual encounter, which is when we get to see every inch of Omar.
Clearly proud of his work on the film, Omar has shared a still of his full-frontal scene across his social media.
“I wasn’t really fearful or anything..." said Omar, speaking about the scene during media interviews. "I was like, It’s kind of my reality. It’s not something that’s new to me.”
