Drag Race Philippines - S3E10: The recap.
Are you up to speed?
We've come to the end of Season 3 of Drag Race Philippines and it's been another cracking roller-coaster of a ride - DRPH is arguably the best franchise spin-off of the Drag Race multiverse.
Are you up to speed? Let's get into it.
There was a lot packed into this final episode. As well as getting a final runway from the entire cast, the Top 4 served three separate looks and a talent show performance.
From there, we went down to a Final 2.
It wasn't a huge surprise that our Final 2 was Maxie versus Khianna - the two strongest performers throughout the season.
The final lip-sync
The track was Lipad Ng Pangarap by Angeline Quinto and Regine Velasquez.
This is a big powerful ballad, which made sense for the final showdown.
Khianna did a solid job, but Maxie is a superstar on stage and really knows how to command attention.
It always feels like Maxie is writing the rules of her own show - in the culmination of this performance, she brought Angel on stage and crowned her. Angel continues to be a delulu delight at every opportunity.
Our winner?
It was clearly Maxie. This was always going to be Maxie's season - she is an incredibly talented performer who will shine with the international platform that comes with Drag Race. Deserve.
Season 3, done!
The Cast
- Maxie: She's a winner, baby. Drag Race needed Maxie.
- Khianna: Khianna has had a great season - demonstrating her talent and resilience, she's a natural entertainer. We'll be seeing a lot more of Khianna.
- Angel: The break-out star of this season, Angel's exuberant confidence is endearing.
- Tita Baby: A very strong performance from Tita Baby - placing in the Top 4 among a strong cast has established her credentials.
- Zymba Ding: It's been a strong season for Zymba, making it to Top 5 and demonstrating that she's a powerhouse performer.
- Myx Chanel: Known as a podcaster and a social media queen, Myx has firmly established herself as an entertaining performer who can hold her own. A strong performance from Myx.
- Popstar Bench: A strong season for Popstar - demonstrating that she's a talented performer with plenty of personality.
- John Fedellaga: Known as a social media queen, John has had a solid season - she's likeable and warm, and seems to have overcome a fair bit of personal trauma in pursuit of her drag career.
- J Quinn: Drawing heavily on K Pop, J Quinn has a distinct point of view but never really got motoring in this competition. Eliminated in Episode 5, beaten in the lip-sync by Zymba.
- Yudipota: Yudipota effectively eliminated herself in Episode 4, giving up during the lip-sync and walking off the stage. There's nothing easy about Drag Race.
- Versex: Versex is the Pork Chop of the season, although she did pick up the title of Miss Congeniality, so that's some consolation.
