New music from PrettiBoiRoq: Ann N Andyy
The second single from the upcoming album.
PrettiBoiRoq is vying for some space on your playlist with his latest single, Ann N Andyy - the second single from his upcoming album.
The inspiration for the track stems from a difficult experience during the creation of his upcoming album. PrettiboiRoq was working on a collaborative project with close friends and fellow artists when they suddenly pulled out over disagreements about creative control. The fallout left him with a project he couldn’t release and thousands of dollars spent. Instead of dwelling on the setback, he turned the situation into fuel for his music, using the grievances aired in the aftermath as the basis for the lyrics.
“The entire project was funded by me...” explains PrettiboiRoq. “So, I took a lot of inspiration from this massive email where they aired all their grievances and incorporated it into the bars and wordplay throughout the track.”
“I wanted to keep it simple as far as production goes and really hyper-focus on the lyricism...” adds PrettiboiRoq. “I’m always a rapper first. This track is a warning—be careful of the bridges you burn.”
The title of the track references the "raggedy" Ann and Andy dolls - an allusion to the friends he has fallen out with.
The music video for Ann N Andyy is directed by Nick Eastman and Kat Glaudini.
Ann N Andyy will be included in the upcoming album, Prince of the South, which is targeting a release date of 31 March.
