President of Argentina describes all LGBTQ people as pedophiles
The comments were made in a speech at Davos.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Javier Milei - the President of Argentina - declared that “gender ideology constitutes plain and simple child abuse. They are pedophiles.”
“The mental virus of woke ideology” is “the great epidemic of our time that must be cured...” said Milei. “This is the cancer we need to get rid of.”
Milei was elected as a populist candidate who drew support by focusing on "culture war" issues such as LGBTQ equality, feminism, immigration, and climate change.
In response to Milei's Davos speech, Esteban Paulón - a member of the parliament of Argentina - has filed a criminal complaint against the president on the basis that Milei has allegedly employed discourse that promotes negative stereotypes and encourages violence against the LGBTQ+ community.
