Ready to dive in?
2025 marks a milestone for Rainbow Surf Retreats, with exciting developments including an ambassador program, femme community retreats, a new surfboard and apparel brand, and a revamped website.
Rainbow Surf Retreats creates safe, inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ surfers. Founded in Panama by Steven Redant, a former DJ, and Canadian surfer Rich Overgaard, the retreats have grown into a global enterprise. With eleven retreats on four continents (Europe, Africa, America, and Asia), the program combines professional surf coaching, community-building, and transformative experiences.
“We aim to send our guests home happier, wiser, and more confident..." explains Steven. "Surfing saved my life, and now I help others find joy and strength through it.”
2025 will see the launch of Rainbow Surf Co., a line of surfboards crafted in collaboration with top shapers and brands. Options range from beginner-friendly to advanced, with customizable designs from subtle to bold. Accompanying the surfboards is an apparel line starting with t-shirts designed by Miguel Libarnes, a graphic artist and featured figure in the documentary Out In The Line-Up. Hats, hoodies, and surfwear will follow soon, letting surfers showcase their pride on and off the waves.
