Theo Mayne: He's behind you!

Star of The Traitors takes to the stage.

Theo Mayne: He's behind you!

Theo Mayne first hit our screens in Season 1 of The Traitors and he's now tackling new challenges.

We caught up with Theo for a behind-the-scenes look at some of his current projects.

You're appearing in a panto production of Cinderella over the festive period - has the panto been experience been part of your festive traditions over the years?

I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be performing in this year's pantomime at the Prince of Wales Theatre in Cannock!

This marks my first professional contract in the theatre industry, but I've been passionate about performing since I started amateur dramatics at the age of 10.

Working with Polkadot Pantomimes has been an incredible experience. They've supported and encouraged me every step of the way, and their brilliant director (Lorinda) has truly boosted my confidence in my role, helping me perform at my very best.

Sharing the stage with such a talented and inspiring cast—Emily, Ben, Holly, Michael, Pjotr, Keith, and Danielle—has made this journey unforgettable. Each one of them has contributed to making my first professional production a magical experience that I'll treasure forever.

With a new season of The Traitors soon to hit our screens, is there any advice that you wish you could give the cast on to succeed on this series?

I'm so excited for the new series of The Traitors!

My best advice to the contestants: just be yourself. Overthinking or sticking to a rigid game plan will eventually catch up with you!

What did your experience on The Traitors teach you about yourself?

Being on the Traitors has taught me so much about myself and helped me discover who I truly am. It's strengthened my resilience to face challenges and showed me that being authentically me is more than okay.

Everyone is uniquely different, and this experience has reminded me to embrace and celebrate who I am as a person.

You're also supporting Causeway's Stand With Survivors campaign- why is that a campaign that is important to you?

Since learning about Causeway and the devastating reality of modern slavery in the UK, I've been deeply motivated to help raise awareness of this hidden issue.

It's shocking to realize that over 100,000 people are trapped in modern slavery just here in the UK.

What's even more concerning is that some groups, like LGBTQ+ people, are at a higher risk of being exploited due to factors like discrimination, isolation, and a lack of safe spaces.

It's a crisis that often goes unnoticed, but it's happening all around us.

Winter is an especially difficult time for survivors of modern slavery. It's a season when isolation becomes even more common, and the need for safe housing, practical support, and emotional care becomes critical.

Causeway's services are a lifeline for so many people, but they're also stretched to the limit at this time of year. That's why I'm inviting everyone to Stand With Survivors This Winter in any way they can.

It doesn't have to be a financial donation—there are so many ways to make a difference. You could donate an unwanted gift card or an old mobile phone, volunteer a couple of hours of your time, or even just follow Causeway on social media to help spread the word.

Together, we can ensure that survivors of modern slavery get the support they need to rebuild their lives. Every small act of kindness adds up to something truly life-changing.

What are some of your goals and aspirations for the months ahead?

Some of my goals for 2025 include appearing on more TV shows to highlight the need for greater diversity and relatability on screen, more live theatre, while also pushing myself to grow and take on new challenges.

I'm also excited to collaborate further with Causeway on their incredible campaigns, helping to shine a spotlight on the amazing work they do.

Most importantly, I want to focus on having fun and enjoying life. It's so precious, and we should all cherish the memories we create with loved ones and throughout our own journeys.
