What's on in London: One Fluid Night
An LGBTQ film festival.
One Fluid Night has expanded into a fully-fledged film festival, taking place in London, 15-17 November.
The festival promises to be a curated selection of stories rarely seen in mainstream cinemas.
Taking place throughout Soho, the festival will combine a selection of international films and documentaries alongside live performances.
OFN founder and festival director Lex Melony says:
“It’s vital that London audiences experience diverse, high-quality content from around the world, whilst also giving international queer filmmakers a platform to showcase their work..." explains Lex Melony, OFN founder and festival director. "My ultimate goal is to build a platform – an inclusive rainbow umbrella – where One Fluid Night becomes a universe that connects, unites, and promotes all spectrums of creativity.”
Highlights of the festival
SUNFLOWER (Australia)
A seventeen-year-old boy struggles to understand and embrace his sexuality as he comes of age in the working class suburbs on Melbourne's edge.
FISHERMAN (Germany)

PARK LIFE (UK)
Noah and Medhi weren’t expecting to make any real connections when they encounter one another cruising in a park. But what starts as a meaningless and transactional hook up, soon blossoms into something unexpectedly romantic and meaningful as they wander the quiet streets of London one remarkable morning.
SEBASTIEN DELAGE - KARAOKETAMINE (France)
Karaoketamine is a realistic and harsh song about chemsex. Without judgment, it is a composite portrait which refuses to participate in the stigmatization of those who practice it but which wants to highlight the discomfort and loneliness which can result from it for some. The clip depicts the trajectory of a gay man who abandons his impeccable costume as a young executive in his 30s, and who goes into a weekend of chemical and sexual wanderings to the point of losing contact with reality. The spoken part in the middle is an extract from the book Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi, the analogy is then obvious: little boys turn into donkeys for having too much fun at the funfair. The clip was released with Sébastien Delage's 2nd album – Baise Platine.
BLEACH (UK)
Gay and lonely, Lloyd is on a shame-fuelled, Grindr-addicted spiral into tragedy.
ILLUMINATI CASTRATI (New Zealand)
Vampire Luka Markos cruises in an unknown city, seeking men for his harem. This ancient wanderer courts three men: The Twink, The Bear, and The Jock. Encountering each man in different corners of the gay nightlife, Luka first seduces, then brutally emasculates them. This sets the stage for a life-and-death power struggle between the men.
WHERE ARE ALL THE GAY SUPERHEROES? (UK)
‘Where Are All the Gay Superheroes?’ is a LGBTQIA+ crowdpleaser, combining elements of sci-fi, drama and comedy. Professional superheroes Sterling and Meridian have just finished saving the day (again) when suddenly, they find themselves in a rare moment alone. The suits come off, but when old tensions and old enemies return, our “heroes” learn the dark truth about who they are underneath. Starring Rory Fleck-Byrne (This Is Going to Hurt, BBC) and Imran Adams (Hollyoaks, Channel 4).
