Written and directed by Mark Schwab, Exteriors weaves together three interconnected stories of contemporary relationships - exploring themes of love, obsession, and reconnection.
The film follows Wyatt, Jason, and Peter - three gay men grappling with life-changing emotional journeys.
Wyatt faces a painful dilemma when his best friend Logan unknowingly falls for his ex-boyfriend, testing the limits of loyalty and heartbreak.
Jason, a pool cleaner, unexpectedly reunites with the man he fell for during a fleeting one-night stand eight years ago.
Peter, a therapist, becomes dangerously obsessed with his client Lex, who shares that he’s just met the love of his life.
In creating Exteriors, Schwab has drawn inspiration from Ryûsuke Hamaguchi’s Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy and its focus on coincidence - inviting viewers to ponder whether chance encounters are random or part of a larger, unseen design.
In this project, Schwab is also revisiting characters from his 2021 film Brotherly Lies. Characters Shane, Kenny, and Lex return in supporting roles that catalyse key conflicts for Wyatt, Jason, and Peter - allowing audiences to witness the growth—or regression—of these familiar figures and exploring the potential for world-building in queer storytelling.
Exteriors is produced by Diamond in the Rough Films. It begins streaming on Gay Binge TV on March 3, 2025.
